So your school is planning on becoming a
digital high school. How does that affect your classroom? Why not
get started now?
This five hour workshop will provide the steps you need to get
you on the journey of managing information your students find and
use. We will show you a model of how other teachers have posted a
question, a task, and resources for their students. Bring one
topic that you would like to expand on. For your resource site, we
will utilize Pacific Bell's site called Filamentality that is easy
and is available for teachers to use. If your school has their own
site, bring a disk to save to. By the end of this workshop, you
will:
- learn powerful, searching strategies that will help you
narrow your searches.
- know about citing sources and copyright issues.
- find appropriate resources that are relevant to your
topic.
- create a question and task based on that topic.
- post the resources and share with other participants.
Teams of two from your department are encouraged to attend. An
introductory computer class or equivalent experience is
required.
