Technology Coordinator's Forum at Seven Hills School
August 25, 1997
Afternoon Activity:
17 Commandments of a Technology Coordinator
Here are some rules to live by!
- Kids come first
- Learn to say "NO"
- Never take work home
- Don't make house calls
- Have set office hours
- It's OK if it doesn't get done or if it
doesn't get done just right!
- Divide work into 3 categories of
priority:
- Happy to (Immediate
priority)
- Hope to (Maybe I'll get to this)
- Hmmm.... (When in doubt, throw it
out)
- Just because it's cheap, free or new doesn't
mean it's worthwhile
- Know what you want before you ask for
it
- Spend an hour a day reading
- Set limits on what technology you're willing
to support
- Do something fun regularly
- If it's not fun, don't do it! Keep your sense
of humor
- Document everything (also known as
"CYA")
- Don't work alone
- Find a volunteer before YOU'RE
volunteered
- Check your email!
