Have you felt a little overwhelmed with the Internet?
Wouldn't you like some ideas on how to use the Internet as a tool
and with your students?
This workshop will give you time to explore on your own,
techniques for effective searching, tips on organizing your
findings, and criteria for evaluating sites. Come with a topic you
plan on expanding on with your students. As you become information
literate, you will learn about I-Searches so you can come up with
the best questions and keywords about your topic. Using these
findings, you can narrow your searches, bookmark your sites and
create a page of your bookmarks. Last, but not least, we will
cover copyright issues and how to cite the sites you found. And
just for fun, we will show you how to capture images from the
Internet.
Prerequisites: knowledge of saving and finding files.
