Two Weeks Before

  • Check set-up
  • Prepare charts
  • Practice speech
  • Check equipment
  • Prepare and duplicate handouts
  • Review and revise agenda with team
  • Design plan A & plan B
  • Prepare any charts, notes, or overheads
  • Confirm equipment reservation
  • Order food
  • Confirm # and needs of participants

The Day Before

  • Check all equipment
  • Load materials and supplies in box
  • Confirm room arrangements
  • Have food ready to take or have available at workshop
  • Review charts, presentation, notes, overheads
  • Locate route or map to site
  • Have a good night's sleep - relax the day before

At Workshop

  • Arrive an hour early
  • Set up equipment and practice to troubleshoot
  • Put out handouts, Sign-In Sheets, Name Tags with Pens
  • Hang up any charts
  • Start and End on Time
  • Point out restrooms
  • Explain key points Objectives/Outcomes
  • Assess needs/wants of participants
  • Be Flexible with a plan A and plan B
  • Have Fun!
  • Enjoy the participants and what they know
  • It's okay to not know everything!
  • Have participants evaluate you and content of workshop

After the Workshop

  • Clean up
  • Review Evaluations
  • Discuss any problems/successes
  • What did you learn?
  • What would you do differently next time?
  • Keep folder with evaluations and comments
